Arvada keeps it simple: every vehicle and trailer on public or private property has to be operable and currently registered. If it isn't, it needs to be stored out of public sight, like inside an enclosed garage.

Vehicles that do run and are registered still need to be parked on concrete, asphalt or rock, not on the lawn. So a car with expired tags sitting in the driveway, or a dead truck parked on the grass, can both draw a code enforcement notice.

If you don't have garage space to spare for a car you're done with, selling it is usually the simplest fix. We'll often pick it up the same day.
